Background
Our client for this project was an accounting firm who were avid users of Zoho Books. They had a subset of clients that paid them through ACH, paying in bulk for multiple services. They needed a solution in order to ensure these payments were correctly processed in Zoho Books, for each relevant invoice.

Creator
To address this client’s needs, we developed an ACH Payments Importer Creator tool, which accepted a CSV of all the payments that were made under one ACH. This app parsed each file into a list of payments, and passed information about them to Zoho Books. Following this, the client was able to create a payment.
Then, a separate app for ZBooks Deposit was used to create a journal entry into the selected bank account in Books. This took each individual payment and assigned it to a journal entry, as deposited.
Books
Following the receipt of information about each payment from Zoho Creator, we created workflows that took Client ID and payment date to find a unique invoice record. We then created a payment record automatically, and applied it to the invoice.
Outcomes
- Massive time savings compared to individual payment record creation typical of Zoho Books process
- Automations made the process simple for end user
This simple solution enabled the mass creation of payment records, and automated the relation of payment records to invoice records, ultimately making the processing of ACH payments much more efficient for our client.
